THE HOTEL DE RUSSIE AND THE LUXURY OF THE ESSENTIAL
The Hotel de Russie owes its name by the many members of the Russian Imperial House and from the Russian Romantic painters who chose the hotel as location of journey for their stay in the Eternal City.
Planned by Giuseppe Valadier in 1814, since nearly ten years is part of The Rocco Forte Collection and has turn to be one of the best hotel in town.
The interior refurbishment of this ancient building was done by Architect Tommaso Ziffer, (with the aid of the Rocco Forte Collection Design Director - Olga Polizzi, Sir Rocco Forte’ sister). Ziffer has come up with an interior design based on an eclectic blending of styles that has given rise to a design that highlights renewed modernity and creates a ‘melting pot’ typical of the most advanced societies in the world.
For the interiors of the hotel, in the salons and bedrooms alike, neutral shades have been chosen, all very delicate to the eye ranging from greenish-blue to sand-ivory with sophisticated shades of amethyst. Furniture is linear, some Asian looking in precious orange and black lacquer.
The bedrooms and suites have enchanting views over Piazza del Popolo and the famous Rome rooftops and are equipped with all modern comforts.
In the international hotel world, the Hotel de Russie, perfectly interprets the ‘essential luxury’. This new concept is visible in the choices for the overall re-styling, the use of pure aesthetics and the innovative optimization of space.
This becomes a philosophy of life expressed in the impeccable and welcoming hospitality offered to guests by staff members.
Guests will instantly enjoy the sensation of having arrived in an exclusive place with a special atmosphere rich in history and heritage, where elegance is never opulent and creates a sense of harmony and wellbeing.
The Hotel de Russie is located between two of Rome's most beautiful and famous Piazzas, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna, a short walk away from the elegant shopping streets and offers a haven of tranquility and green in the heart of the city.
Situated in the enchantment of the Secret Garden with its age-old palms and yew trees, blossoming orange groves and rose bushes, is the Restaurant ‘Le Jardin de Russie’ with open air tables during the summer months. At night soft lighting creates a unique atmosphere.
Visit to the Stravinsky Bar is a must. Situated in Piazzetta Valadier, the Bar is a wonderful meeting-place in the centre of Rome. When visiting, also call in at the exclusive Wellness Zone offering a wide range of treatments that prolong the pleasure of your stay in this magnificent hotel.
