PUDONG SHANGRI-LA, SHANGHAI LAUNCHES THE RENEWED RIVER WING

Pudong, in east Shanghai, was an undeveloped countryside just 15 years ago. In 1998, Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai opened its River Wing as the first and pioneering luxury hotel in the Lujiazui district of Pudong. Today, Lujiazui is eight times the size of London's new financial district. Committed to providing guests with the best facilities and services as Best in Class, Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai embarked on a renewal mission of the River Wing in January 2008.

The 573 guestrooms and suites are transformed, blending a style of classical elegance with oriental touches. Guests will feel the sense of renewal the moment they walk into the room. Warm, earthy hues of cream, beige and brown are used for carpets and wallcoverings, with well-designed furniture added to enhance the cosy and relaxed ambience. Each room is presented with a crystal chandelier, a gracious mural of Chinese flowers above the plush bed and an impressive list of amenities. Rooms on the Horizon Club floors offer a higher standard of accommodation, with more exclusive and personalised services and privileges. Unique to the Horizon Club rooms are a Queen Anne chair and an ottoman, and the bathroom has a rain shower and a set of L’Occitane amenities.

Recent additions to the hotel’s collection of versatile meeting and events rooms are the Chairman’s and President’s Rooms, spanning over 630 square metres in a style of a unique 19th century mansion style, a “first” in concept for Shanghai.
