ADRIAN ZECHA TO RECEIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT ILTM ASIA

ILTM Asia to also reveal ‘Global Trends in Luxury Travel’ research and explore if Asian Luxury Travellers are dictated by culture, wealth or both?

ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) Asia 2011 will present a lifetime achievement award to Adrian Zecha, founder and chairman of one of the world’s most luxurious travel brands, Amanresorts. The award ceremony will take place at the close of ILTM Asia’s Ultratravel Forum on Monday 13 June at 5pm in the Shanghai Theatre, Portman Ritz-Carlton.

Comprising 23 properties yet fewer than 900 rooms worldwide, Amanresorts has a staff-to-guest ratio of six to one. The first Amanresort, Amanpuri (Place of Peace) was founded in 1987 in Thailand by Indonesian born Zecha, at a time when the concept of small boutique resorts was still in its infancy.

ILTM ASIA ULTRATRAVEL FORUM TO REVEAL GLOBAL TRENDS AND REGIONAL PATTERNS

The ILTM Asia Ultratravel Forum will begin with the findings of ILTM’s global research project ‘The Future of Luxury Travel – A Global Trends Report’, which has been undertaken by Horwath HTL.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion which will address ‘Is the Asian Luxury Traveller dictated by culture, wealth or both?’, hosted by journalist and ex CNN Asia anchor Michelle Han. Confirmed panellists include hotelier and restaurateur Loh Lik Peng; Paul Dickinson, Sales & Marketing Director of Virgin Atlantic; Steve Odell, Senior Vice-President of Silversea Cruises; and Managing Director of Taj Hotels & Resorts, Raymond Bickson.
