Over the last 3 decades, Sun City Resort has welcomed several generations of holidaymakers, as it has everything you could want in a family holiday. There are four hotels located at Sun City all offering superior and unique accommodation. Thula Baba offers a superior day and night babysitting service should you require it. Professional child care minders are trained in childcare and first aid. This service allows parents to indulge in Sun City’s nightlife or merely escape to the Spa for a relaxing hour or two of holistic treatments and massages.

The magnificent Palace of the Lost City glitters like a jewel beneath the African sun. The Palace lavishes its guests with 5-star service, and is luxurious in every facet of its fabulous architecture.

Located within The Lost City, is the magical Valley of Waves water park. The man-made beach is always packed to capacity with sun worshipers enjoying the year round balmy sunny weather. It is by far one of the most advanced water-parks in the world, and houses a 6 500m2 wave pool with a palm fringed beach. Hydraulic mechanisms generate a 1,8m wave every 90 seconds that keeps even adults excited. The park is home to five exhilarating rides; The Temple of Courage (where swimmers must brave a slide down a 70m chute), the Tarantula and the Scorpion body slides and the Lazy River (a gentle ride around the kidney-shaped island) as well as the Royal Bath swimming pool.

Lush gardens, tropical birds and water features give The Cascades Hotel its relaxed ambiance and elegance. And overlooking the internationally acclaimed Gary Player Golf Course, the Sun City Hotel is home to the Sun City Casino. The ambience of the hotel is one of glamorous merriment tastefully combined with magical fantasy.

The most relaxed and casual of all Sun City's hotels, the Sun City Cabanas opens onto lush gardens leading down to the lake and Waterworld. Waterworld offers a full range of water-sports, including weekend sunset cruises, parasailing, jet-skiing, waterskiing, rubber ducks, mini-boats, inflatable tubes, wake-snakes and paddle skis.

And for kids there is Kamp Kwena - an enormous fantasy fort filled with gazillions of games and activities. A total universe of mini-golf, animals, swimming, outings, nature walks, bumper boats, cruises, wildlife game drives, sandcastle building, magic performances, races, mini Olympics, sporting fun, and loads more. Entire rooms full of everything that’s fun to play with, dazzling space, new friendships, and hugs and smiles from friendly caregivers.

Kamp Kwena is not simply a place that a child goes to so their parents can enjoy a little rest and relaxation. For the child, Kamp Kwena is a totally involving journey; a wondrous place where their imagination is unrestricted, an invigorating place to be explored, understood and savoured.

The Stimela Train and Wildlife World are wonderful developments situated near Kamp Kwena. Wildlife World is stocked with Springbok, Nyala and Red Duiker, Meercats and Surricats. And to add to the wild life experience, Sun City has created a miniature railway to transport children around this fantastic natural habitat. The miniature railway is located near the lake between the ‘Long John Silver’ bumper boats and the new Wildlife World. Children will experience a wild ride filled with thrills and discoveries.

The railway track is approximately 440 metres long and 80 metres of the track is built on stilts extending out over the Waterworld Lake and provides a very scenic view for those aboard. The lowest point is over the lake and the highest point is near the 18th hole of the Gary Player Golf Course. The track has an incline of approximately two metres, which adds a thrill to the ride. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes and the cost is R35 for adults and R29 for children. Children under the age of five should to be accompanied by an adult.

A major driving force behind Sun City’s success is the continual expansion of our activities and facilities. The Pilanesberg National Park is a huge draw card, attracting families to this malaria free area and Big 5 territory. There are now additional attractions and family orientated activities available.

Enjoy a wilderness hot air balloon flight across the Pilanesberg National Park, a colonial style breakfast, a walking safari in ‘Big 5’ country, or a night game drive. For a more personal experience, lumber through the bush atop a mighty African elephant, go quad biking amid hidden crevices and ravines, rediscover the ancient art of target shooting and archery or feel the primal, heartfelt pulse of an African drum circle.

For adrenalin junkies the Zip Slide offers an extreme adventure. The 280 meters high, two kilometres long Zip Slide, reaches a speed of 140 kilometres per hour and guarantees a four minute unadulterated adrenalin rush. Solo and tandem slides are available so this ride has an appeal for nervous novices. Unlike many other adventure activities, this experience is open to young ones from the age of 12, making it a fun activity for the whole family.

Elephant-back game viewing is available in the Pilanesberg National Park and adventurers can take a ride on one of Africa’s finest animals. Lumbering silently through the bush, you will ride atop a mighty African elephant. This gentle giant will take you on an unforgettable journey. The exhilaration of the experience is walking through the bush as part of the wildlife.

Sun City is a haven of youth culture - there’s tubing, swimming, volleyball and Club Chirp parties. Club Chirp is a dance club especially for teens. Youngsters between 12 – 17 are entertained for hours in a safe and fun environment. Club Chirp offers an enjoyable evening of good, old fashioned fun! Alcohol and illegal substances are strictly prohibited with patrons being searched on arrival at the venue. The high standard of security ensures that Chirp is the safest way for teenagers to party. Guest Celebrity DJ’s, awesome competitions, amazing prizes and all the latest music will ensure that teenagers enjoy the ultimate clubbing experience in Club Chirp at Sun City.
